HIV/AIDS in our Community is a present and real ongoing Challenge. Although many of the people have heard and directly seen and felt the most painful and disabling Impacts of the Scourge, many Still need Increased Education, Sensitization, Nutrition and Palliative Home Care, Encouragement through Counseling and Treatment.
For a greatly illiterate population like this in our Community, regular Physical outreache and direct Counseling would provide very positive Impacts against the Prevalence of the disease.
Malaria and other silent killer diseases are also in need of emphasis and prevention. This is why we have distributed protective Materials like Condoms, Mosquito Nets, and Gloves. Mosquito nets can cost as little as $12 each. These items, highly affordable in many countries, are not easily affordable or available to the people of our communities. We must continue to raise funds for distribution of these simple, yet effective preventive measures.
VERDE-Uganda is working to treat people with HIV/AIDS, prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, and the harsh difficulty of children orphaned by the disease. With community outreach, as well as mobile clinic counseling and HIV/AIDS testing, VERDE-Uganda is making inroads into slowing the spread of HIV/AIDS and its consequences. In addition, VERDE-Uganda is working to build a school that will provide classes and water for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
In addition, VERDE Uganda provides counseling on family planning, which, in addition to helping curb the economic strain of large families, helps prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
We are also providing condoms, mosquito nets, and gloves, to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and other preventable yet fatal diseases.
